Lon Glen Brown, Jr.

January 22, 1962 ~ October 20, 2021 (age 59)

On January 22, 1962, Lon Brown, Jr. was welcomed into this world by his grateful parents, Lon Brown, Sr. and Lobelia Douglass Brown in Shaker Heights, Ohio.  Lon’s birth was preceded by his two sisters, Lyn Michele and Dawn Allyson of who departed this life on February 23, 2010.

Lon was christened and received his early Christian upbringing at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church.  He graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1980 and matriculated at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia and Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.

Prior to his graduation, he met and married Silvia Mencia.  Two children were born to this union, Lon Glen Brown, III and Sabrina Elisa Brown of Solon, Ohio.

Lon obtained employment with the Department of Human Services in  Akron, Ohio.  Subsequent employment positions included The Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Local Union 310 and City of Cleveland.  He enjoyed fishing and playing Chess.  His warm and outgoing personality resulted in many friends and acquaintances.

Lon will be sorely missed and mourned by his parents, Lon and Lobelia Brown; his son, Lon Brown, III; his daughter, Sabrina Brown; sister, Lyn Michele Austin; grandchildren, Lon Brown, IV, Zara and Khailon; special friend, Sandra Thomas; loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
