Katherine Nesper died in 2021 after a 33-month battle with lung cancer which metastasized to her brain. Her strength, tenacity, and positive outlook helped her to live longer than her 3–12-month prognosis.

Kathe lived in the Cleveland area for most of her life. Her creative sense of style could be seen in the furniture and décor of the Shaker Heights home she owned for 30 years. She held various interior design jobs over the years, including but not limited to, Higbees and the VA.

She loved all of her cats last ones were Poly(ester) and Cotton) and her pug, Mabel. Her father, James, proceeded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, her sister Carol (Bruce), her brother Will (Vicki), a niece Abigail, and nephews Nicholas and Zoltan and a host of friends, many who visited her in her final days and hours.

A tree was planted in her memory at Horseshoe Lake in Shaker Hts. along South Park Blvd. It is currently identified with as #40.
